Dear CYC Board and Parents,

Here's to summer!  We've made it this far in the shadow of Covid-19 and now we continue to move forward, still sheltering, masking, distancing, and gloved!  Although Cabrillo Youth Chorus will not be holding classes this summer, there is a fantastic alternative for enjoyment of music from some of our wonderful teachers. I can highly recommend these excellent teachers who can offer a variety of ways to further musical skills, enjoy new music, and participate with others electronically.

You can contact these teachers individually and engage them privately.  Each of them has experience teaching online and each are gifted with many talents.  Their information is listed below:

Lori is a soprano with a degree in voice performance. She frequently performs with Ensemble Monterey Chamber Orchestra, the San Jose Opera, Cabrillo Choruses, and many other ensembles throughout the Central Coast. Next summer, 2021, she will perform the lead in Cabrillo Stage's production of
Candide. She is a graduate of Cabrillo and was a Teaching Assistant with CYC.

He graduated from Cabrillo where he was President of Il Dolce Suono and a Teaching Assistant with CYC. While at UOP he held lead roles in their operas, conducted the Phi Mu Alpha mens choir, and sang frequently with Baroque ensembles throughout the Central Coast.
He has received many scholarships in performance and opera, works as a choreographer and actor, and played Marius in
Les Miserable to name only one of his many roles. He will perform in Candide next summer, returning to Cabrillo Stage for this production.

Enya Murray -  831-334-3692

Enya is a soprano with a degree in Choral Music from USC, where she graduated
cum laude. Enya sang with Cabrillo Youth Chorus when she was in high school and then with Cabrillo Choruses. She was a Teaching Assistant with Cabrillo Youth Chorus and has gained prominence as a soprano soloist.  She is currently teaching in an elementary school in Milpitas, gathering her skills and experience, and she aspires to conduct in higher education teaching teachers and conductors.  She has a passion for music theory as well.

I urge you to study under the loving guidance of one or all of these teachers.  Please contact me with any questions you have.  I promise you'll have fun, learn tons, fall in love with these people, and be glad you did it.

Have an absolutely fabulous summer, count on being back in full swing one way or another in the fall, and expect great things from yourself.  How can you lose with the CYC TEAM!

Best and much love,
